Within the framework of Seatrade Europe, the delegation from Malaga announced
to cruise companies and Cruise industry professionals that the Mediterranean edition in 2024 will take place for the second consecutive year in the Andalusian destination.
Hamburg, 07 September 2023 - For the second consecutive year, Malaga will once again host the international cruise sector fair Seatrade Cruise Med in 2024, is the first time that the organisation has chosen the same destination.
The Malaga delegation, which is currently in Hamburg to promote the port and the destination at Seatrade Europe, presented to the cruise companies and professionals of the sector the event that it will host next year, with the support of the Seatrade organisation itself and with the support of the Association of Mediterranean Cruise Ports (Medcruise).
In this way, the president of the Port Authority, Carlos Rubio Basabe highlighted the importance of this event "which gives Malaga and Andalusia in general a prominent place on the world map of cruise tourism", being held in "a year already normalised in terms of calls and passengers and in which it is operating at full capacity".
For her part, the director of the Seatrade group, Mary Bond was "satisfied with the decision to hold this event in Malaga again, due to the success of the last edition", and thanked "the effort and interest of the authorities of the port and the destination, such as the Port Authority, the Tourism Board of Malaga City Council, Tourism and Planning Costa del Sol Board and the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport of the Junta de Andalucía to hold a first class event".
Finally, the President of Medcruise, Figen Ayan, expressed her pride in "supporting Malaga once again, this port being one of the first members to join the Association".
The presentation was supported by other entities that actively collaborate with the organisation of the event such as Puertos del Estado, Global Ports Holding, Málaga Cruise Port, CitySightseeing, Suncruise Andalucía and Fundación Málagaport.
The meeting will be held again at the Palacio de Ferias y Congresos de Málaga between 11th and 12th September 2024.
Meetings at Seatrade Europe
In addition to this presentation, the Malaga delegation held meetings with the main companies of the sector with the aim of continuing the professional contact maintained up to now and to show the offer of the port and the destination in terms of infrastructures and services for the ship and the passengers, adapting to the current demand and staking out information on airport connections, so important for decision making as a base port.
